HostSailor KVM - 1GB RAM (Seaman) VPS Review
Introduction
Before you read: I'm going to warn you that this is a VERY LONG review. I recently purchased a KVM VPS with 1GB RAM from HostSailor, a 2-year-old web hosting company (according to their domain's WHOIS). So I decided to write a review.
Specs
- 1GB RAM
- 40GB HDD
- 4 vCPU Cores
- 1 Gbit Port
- 1TB Bandwidth
- 1 IPv4 address
- /64 IPv6 addresses
- Romania
- KVM
- SolusVM
The specs aren't bad, but wait until you see the stuff below.
It has an average amount of RAM, and HDD space. 4 CPU cores is quite useful when you're doing certain things. A 1Gbps uplink with 1TB bandwidth is nice. And being in Romania is good too, however some network latency is caused by me being in Detroit (US). And the best thing is, it's KVM!
Note: You do not see the IPv6 addresses upon activation in SolusVM, you have to ask support to assign them for you. This is why I do not have an IPv6 network test.

Network
Like I said, this is a server in Romania and I have quite a bit of latency (~400ms), even with my decent internet (30Mbps down, 10Mbps up). Speedtest.net:
It's pretty cool how HostSailor is an ISP. But that proves that they own their own hardware (that's what the chat support told me). Their speeds are extremely fast, even with a ST server that's ~50 miles away. Their network has been very reliable for me, too. Now for the FreeVPS.us benchmark script (apologies for the appearance, I can't get the code thing to show up properly) :
Speedtest (IPv4 only)

Singapore Softlayer 5.74MB/s
Rotterdam, Netherlands id3.net 22.8MB/s
Haarlem, Netherlands Leaseweb 40.1MB/s
Download speeds are good, however as you may have noticed, the farther away the server is the slower the speeds are. The NL server has a surprising 40MB/s.

Considering they use plain old mechanical HDDs, I/O is extremely fast.

CPU
This VPS comes with a decent quad core 2nd gen Xeon processor running at 2.40GhZ. This processor WILL NOT be killed by ANY amount of stressing (bitcoin miners?)

Control Panel
As I haven't ever used SolusVM with a KVM box before, I can't rate the control panel. Conclusion This VPS is very good, with high I/O speeds, a bunch of fast CPU cores, and decent amount of RAM. There could be more RAM, however for the price (6.99/mo) it is a pretty good deal! Order: https://clients.hostsailor.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=114
